I'm no stranger to playing many roles, both onstage and off. I grew up in Ohio and went to school at Wright State University where I received my B.F.A. in acting then set off for Chicago to pursue my dream. During my eight years in Chicago, I acted, directed, and was artistic director of a 20 year old storefront theatre company. While I was performing, I was able to support myself financially with administrative roles that blended my project management skills, customer service acumen and tech skills. After turning 30, I found myself wanting a more stable and fulfilling day job and, after some introspection, turned to my lifelong love of video games and technology for a possible career change. I began my coding journey with Codecademy and went on to build a few small projects in Unity. The creative problem solving and storytelling behind programming appealed to me as an artist while also offering exciting career opportunities.
Life changes brought me to Nashville and led to my discovery of Nashville Software School where I was eager to join their full-time 6 month boot camp for Front-End Web Development. During my education so far, I've learned not just about coding, but what is most exciting to me as a developer. I enjoy building software that improves the quality of life for a diverse range of users and am especially interested in XR/AR/VR development. With my background as a storyteller and casual graphic designer, I believe that UX and UI can make or break a good application. As a developer, my focus is solely on the user and how to increase accessibility.
